Adaptive Ski & Snowboard School
Our program teaches people of all ages and abilities to ski and snowboard. Our staff is PSIA certified and we work with individuals who experience any kind of disability: developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, mental health, visual and auditory impairments, to name a few. Lessons occur every Saturday and Sunday, beginning in January and running through mid-April. In addition to our alpine ski and snowboard lessons, we also offer adaptive nordic ski lessons. Lessons occur on Sunday afternoons, January through mid-April. Rides can be provided up to Eaglecrest, for an additional cost, each weekend morning and back down at the end of each ski day. Morning sessions run from 10am-noon, afternoon sessions from 1pm-3pm.
Signing Up All skiers/boarders should sign up the Wednesday before the weekend they would like to ski or snowboard. (You can also set-up a regular schedule for the winter season as well.)
Canceling Participants must notify ORCA if they plan on canceling by noon Friday. For cancelations received after this time (except for family emergencies etc.) the participant will be billed the cost of the lesson/ski buddy (and ride if we come to your doorstep).
Emergencies If you need to contact ORCA during the day, you may reach us through the Eaglecrest Snowsports line, 790-2000. Otherwise, you may leave weekend messages on the main ORCA line, 586-0104, or the ORCA Activity Cell, 321-2704.
Pricing Participants have the option of paying for lessons or ski buddies. See below for pricing details.
Nordic And don’t forget, we also offer Nordic lessons at Ealgecrest and the Mendenhall Campground! Great for groups and beginners!
