Only Fools Run At Midnight 2008 - Thank You

The Only Fools Run at Midnight was coupled this year with a Southeast area wide pledge drive. The pledge drive featured FANTASTIC prizes for the top pledge collectors in each of the 3 communities (Sitka, Juneau, and Ketchikan.) In addition to the local prizes, top collectors ($300 and above) had their names entered into a hat for the Grand Prize drawing: 2 RT Tickets to ANYWHERE Alaska Airlines flies. Yes, that's right, anywhere does in fact include Mexico and Hawaii!
This year, the live drawing was held in Ketchikan just moments prior to the starting gun sounding off for the Only Fools Run on June 28th at 11:59PM.
This years winner was Jon Williams, from Ketchikan. Next years drawing will be held LIVE in one of the other 2 cities (either Juneau or Sitka), to keep the rotation going!
Overall, the pledge drive and the Fools Run was a great success, with Participants, Businesses, Volunteers, Pledge Collectors and those who pledged, to thank equally! Southeast wide, SAIL raised over $32,000 Juneau raised $18,300, Ketchikan raised $8,600 and Sitka raised $5,800. All proceeds from the Only Fools Run at Midnight stay in the community it was raised in and go directly into the services and programs that SAIL provides others. All of us at SAIL look forward to next year's event and hope to see you there! ?
SAIL would like to send a BIG Thank You to all of the Only Fools Run 2008 Sponsors, participants and pledge collectors!

SAIL 15th Anniversary Celebration
On Friday, November 9 we are celebrating 15 years of giving disability a possibility! Our banquet will feature live music, entertainment by nationally renowned comedian and disability activist Michael Beers, and a silent auction. Guests will be business leaders and SAIL supporters who donate $100 or more during our October annual campaign. Board members and staff from all 3 regional SAIL offices will be in town for this monumental event! We would love your participation. Here are a couple of ways that you can be involved:
Make a donation of $100 or more and RSVP for your tickets to the event. 586-4920.
Donate auction items: We are looking for artwork, hand crafted items, jewelry, and other items that will encourage some competitive bidding! Let us know what you.d like to donate before November 2 and we will gladly come and pick it up.
Donate a fancy dessert: In addition to items that we can include in our silent auction, we are seeking donations of a few delectable desserts that we can auction off *LIVE* after dinner! Just let us know what you.ll be donating by November 2, and arrange to deliver the dessert (or have it picked up) sometime before 5 p.m. on Friday, November 9. Remember that it will be standing at room temperature for several hours, so items that need chilling are not ideal.
Sponsor a table: You may sponsor a table at the banquet for your friends, or guests of SAIL. You may reserve a table of 8 for only $250, and a table of 10 for $350. Download the donation form (see link below) for more information, or call Sierra at 586-4920.
Thanks!!!

Ski-A-Thon 2005
Now that the quilt winner has been drawn and winter is upon us, it's time to focus on Ski-A-Thon!
Please join SAIL and ORCA for the annual Ski-a-thon Kick-off Party from 6pm-8pm on Thursday February 2nd at the Catholic Cathedral on 5th and Gold downtown.
Here, you'll be able to pick up your pledge packet, wolf down some pizza and get jazzed for Ski-A-Thon with a ski movie. We can also mail you a pledge packet, if you'd prefer!
Don't worry, this isn't about doing laps down the hill on your skis, you just collect pledges to get yourself in the running for a host of fabulous prizes (more to come on those!). Then, on March 18th, you come to Eaglecrest for us to tally up your pledges and on the 19th, at the Juneau Yacht Club, we'll have a gala banquet to recognize our pledge collectors, sponsors and local businesses that donated goods and services to the event. Of course, all proceeds go to support quality programs for Southeast Alaskans with disabilities.
Stay tuned for more information, or give us a call at 586-0104 (ORCA) 586-4920 (SAIL).
